A Simple Guide for People Planning to Visit Rishikesh for Holidays

Rishikesh Tourism - Plan Rishikesh Trip with Rishikesh Travel Guide

Rishikesh is a beautiful hill station that is nestled amidst the majestic Himalayas. This quaint town attracts tourists both from India and abroad largely due to its enthralling natural beauty. It is one of the best destinations to enjoy a lavish stay in a resort in the Himalayas. People can enjoy the views of the charming Ganga valley from the rooms of these resorts. A lot of people also visit Rishikesh in order to check out the major yoga and meditation centres located here or to participate in the various incredible activities available in this hill station like river rafting, hiking and trekking. Rishikesh is considered to be a perfect holiday destination for all types of travellers, from nature lovers and thrill-seekers, to the ones desiring to spend their holidays in some peace and quiet.

How to go to Rishikesh

As Rishikesh doesn’t have its own airport, people planning to fly there should book tickets for the Jolly Grant Airport of Dehradun. This airport is, in fact, closer to Rishikesh than the city of Dehradun. Cabs and cars on hire are easily available near the airport through which one can reach Rishikesh. While Rishikesh does have a railway station, not many trains stop there. Therefore, it would be a good idea for people to first reach Haridwar on a train and then take a connecting train to Rishikesh from there. There are three trains plying from Haridwar to Rishikesh. People residing in North India may even choose to drive down to Rishikesh.

Where to stay?

There are many resorts and hotels in the hilly town of Rishikesh, much like any other major tourist centre of the nation. The best resorts in Rishikesh are famed for enjoying commendable connectivity to the Jolly Grant Airport and being equipped with multiple high-end facilities and amenities. The conveniences found in these properties tend to be designed as per the requirements and tastes of modern urban travellers and include facilities for fine dining and spa therapy. Some of these resorts even have grand infinity swimming pools within their premises. The tariff rates and other details of these resorts can easily be found on their respective websites.
